BiH Armed Forces and civil structures join Exercise

The Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina recently conducted a demonstrative exercise in Modran near Ustikolina to showcase their readiness in crisis situations. The exercise, titled “Assistance to civil government structures in case of fire,” involved coordination with city and cantonal civil structures, medical and Red Cross teams, as well as the Goražde Professional Fire Department and Air Force team.

The exercise simulated extinguishing fires from the air using a helicopter, providing first aid, and evacuating civilians caught in the fire. Colonel Muamer Sijerčić emphasized the importance of being prepared for natural disasters and assisting civil structures in times of need.

Since 2010, the Third Infantry Battalion has been actively engaged in firefighting and providing aid during emergencies. The exercise aimed to assess readiness, coordination between units, equipment operability, and identify areas for improvement.

Colonel Sijerčić highlighted the battalion’s capabilities in firefighting, water rescue, and air support for extinguishing large-scale fires. The exercise demonstrated their commitment to being prepared and efficient in fulfilling their tasks in the future.
