A recent report by the New York Times revealed that over 1,000 Russian soldiers were killed or wounded daily in Ukraine during the month of May. Despite Russia recruiting thousands of new soldiers monthly, their casualties are proving to be a significant challenge.

The Russian army’s human wave-style attacks have led to heavy losses, with soldiers likening the experience to being in a meat grinder. While some key cities were captured using these tactics, attempts near Kharkiv have been unsuccessful.

Despite the losses, Russia has achieved its objective of creating a buffer zone along the border. However, Ukrainian forces managed to halt the Russian offensive in Kharkiv Oblast, inflicting heavy casualties on the invading troops.

With Ukraine stabilizing the front, the battle continues between the two nations. The sacrifices made by Russian soldiers highlight the toll of war in Ukraine.
