Tragedy in Kaduna river: Six teens drown after Junior WAEC

Tragedy struck in Ribang (Mbang) village, Kaduna State, as six teenagers drowned in the Mbang river while returning from writing a Junior WAEC exam. The victims, students of Government Secondary School Fadan Chawai, were full of hope and excitement before meeting their untimely death. With three bodies already recovered and buried, the community still searches for the remaining missing students.

The National Public Relations Officer of Ribang Development Association, Pastor Simon Ishaku, called for urgent assistance from the government to provide essential facilities like schools, hospitals, access roads, and bridges to prevent future tragedies in the community. Despite the pleas for help, the Kaduna State Police and Emergency Management Agency were yet to respond to the situation at the time of publication.
