Sanaa gov holds Saudi responsible for safety of Yemeni pilgrims – Yemen Press Agency

The Ministry of Guidance, Hajj, and Umrah Affairs in the Sanaa government expressed deep concern over the detention of 1,124 Yemeni pilgrims by Saudi authorities. The Ministry emphasized the responsibility of Saudi authorities for the safe return of these pilgrims to Sanaa Airport.

Despite confirmed flights to Sanaa, the Saudi authorities diverted a recent flight to Aden Airport, citing unspecified reasons. The Ministry condemned this action and highlighted the risks posed by the security situation in Aden.

The ministry raised concerns about the violation of agreements with the Saudi Ministry of Hajj, which stipulates the return of Yemeni pilgrims to Sanaa International Airport. The situation remains tense as Yemeni pilgrims await their safe return home.
