Tragedy struck in Kenora as police fatally shot a man suspected of setting fire to an ice cream shop at a local beach park and campground. The incident, which unfolded at Anicinabe Park, prompted a response from OPP officers and fire crews after reports of a man wielding knives and a gas can ignited the shop.

While all staff managed to escape, one person sustained injuries and was rushed to the hospital. The Ontario Special Investigations Unit is now looking into the case, confirming the man responsible for the fire passed away in the hospital. As of now, his identity remains undisclosed pending notification of his next of kin.
