Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Calls for Dialogue with Opposition for the Betterment of the Country

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated his invitation to the opposition, including the PTI, for open dialogue in a bid to improve the country’s situation. Addressing the lower house of the Parliament, he expressed regret that his previous offers for a Charter of Economy were not positively responded to after the 2018 elections.

Shehbaz urged for unity, stating, “Come, let’s agree on the Charter of Economy today,” which received applause from lawmakers. He highlighted the bitterness in national politics and emphasized the need for a return to a more civil discourse.

Responding to Shehbaz’s call, PTI leader Omar Ayub mentioned that dialogue could ensue once Imran Khan and party workers are released from jail, emphasizing the need for the government to acknowledge any wrongdoings. Shehbaz, on the other hand, stressed the importance of justice for all individuals, irrespective of their background.

The prime minister’s call for dialogue aims to foster better relations between opposing parties and work towards the common goal of improving the country’s political landscape.
