Opposition alliance skips CM Shinde’s tea party on eve of Maharashtra session

The Maha Vikas Aghadi opposition alliance in Maharashtra decided to boycott CM Eknath Shinde’s tea party on the eve of the state legislature monsoon session, citing the government’s failure to address key issues.

Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Ambadas Danve declared the boycott at a press conference, highlighting their discontent with the current administration.

The customary tea party, a pre-session tradition, was set to take place later that day, but was met with the absence of the opposition leaders.

The state legislature monsoon session in Mumbai, scheduled from June 27 to July 12, will see the ruling Mahayuti alliance presenting the state budget on June 28 in both houses.

Notably, an interim budget was presented in February before the Lok Sabha elections earlier this year.
