Morocco’s Exciting Infrastructure Plan for 2030 FIFA World Cup Revealed
Exciting news from Spain reveals Morocco’s ambitious infrastructure plan for the upcoming 2030 FIFA World Cup, to be co-hosted with Spain and Portugal. Valued at 42 billion MAD (approximately €3.95 billion), the plan aims to modernize transportation networks, upgrade stadium facilities, and boost the economy.
A significant portion of the budget will be dedicated to constructing and renovating stadiums set to host tournament matches. One highlight is the new mega-stadium in Casablanca, budgeted at 5 billion MAD (€459 million) and boasting a capacity of 115,000 spectators, aiming to be the world’s largest.
With a focus on sustainability and distinct spaces for various groups, Morocco’s stadium development aligns with their goals for the Africa Cup of Nations as well. The country is also eyeing the possibility of hosting the 2030 World Cup final, alongside Spain.
The remaining investment will be split among five other venues for the World Cup, with renovations and upgrades planned in two phases. This ambitious project showcases Morocco’s dedication to sports and infrastructure development on a global scale.
