The handover ceremony of medical equipment took place on June 26th in the presence of Mr. OKUYAMA Jiro, Ambassador of Japan to Jordan, and Mr. Sameer Abd-Aljawad, Chairman of Jemzo Charity Association. The Government of Japan extended a grant of $72,245 to Jemzo Charity Association for medical equipment under the GGP scheme in September 2023. The aim is to enhance medical services at the center in Zarqa by providing new equipment like an Ultrasound and Panoramic Dental X-ray.
Jemzo Charity Association has been providing medical, educational, and financial support to underprivileged Jordanians and refugees since 2011. Ambassador OKUYAMA highlighted the importance of affordable medical centers for vulnerable populations in Jordan, particularly in regions like Zarqa where poverty rates are high.
Japan has funded over 159 projects in Jordan through the Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects, totaling over $10 million since 1993. This partnership continues to support organizations, schools, hospitals, and local governments in providing essential services to those in need.
