James O’Brien to visit Azerbaijan

Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs James C. O’Brien is embarking on a diplomatic journey to Baku, Azerbaijan, and Dubrovnik, Croatia from June 27 to June 29, as reported by the US State Department. In Baku, he will engage in meetings with Azerbaijani officials to emphasize the positive strides in the US-Azerbaijan bilateral relations and express US support towards achieving a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Following his visit to Baku, Assistant Secretary O’Brien will head to Dubrovnik, Croatia, to participate in the Dubrovnik Forum and engage with European partners and allies in discussions regarding the Euro-Atlantic integration of the Western Balkans. His remarks at the forum will underscore US efforts in enabling the region’s potential for reform.

Furthermore, Assistant Secretary O’Brien will also hold meetings with Croatian government officials to deliberate on defense cooperation, energy security, and other focal areas in the US-Croatia bilateral ties. This diplomatic visit aims to strengthen partnerships and promote regional stability and progress.
