BSNL making money from land for tech, network growth

The Union government-owned corporation BSNL is auctioning unused lands to raise funds for technology and network development. The Chief General Manager of BSNL Karnataka Circle announced the e-auction of prime land in Mysuru, with a deadline of July 1 to apply.

Key Details:

The reserve price for a 25,785 square feet land in Mysuru is Rs 21.11 crore. BSNL plans to monetize 13 land properties in the Mysuru business area for development purposes. Additionally, BSNL is set to launch a stand-alone 4G network by Tata Consultancy Services, with plans for a 5G upgrade.

Expanding Reach:

BSNL’s 4G Saturation Project aims to provide connectivity to remote areas lacking network coverage. The Prime Minister’s Office is directly overseeing this project, with plans to erect towers in various locations across Mysuru BA, Kodagu, and Mandya districts.
