Flick Drummond, a British Conservative Party politician, is seeking re-election at the UK’s general election on 4 July. Having previously served as the MP for Meon Valley and Portsmouth South, she now stands in the Winchester constituency in southern England.
Drummond recently re-founded Conservative Friends of Palestine in 2023 with Baroness Sayeeda Warsi to educate colleagues and others about the situation in Palestine. In an interview with The New Arab, she emphasized the importance of Conservative supporters advocating for Palestine in parliament and pushing for a two-state solution.
Drummond also expressed her concerns regarding the conflict in Gaza, calling for an immediate ceasefire and emphasizing the need for rebuilding and international support. She abstained from a previous opposition motion related to the conflict, highlighting her commitment as a team player.
As the Conservative Party manifesto outlines plans for recognizing a Palestinian state, Drummond expressed her desire to accelerate the process. While cautious about certain legal terms and bills mentioned in the manifesto, she remains dedicated to supporting the rights and rebuilding efforts of the Palestinian people.
