A recent commercial motor vehicle blitz in Waterloo Region resulted in 78 vehicles being taken off the road by police from Guelph, Brantford, and other jurisdictions. The joint effort on June 19 and 20 involved pulling over 210 vehicles for inspection, leading to the removal of 14 sets of license plates and 78 vehicles.
Inspectors identified various offenses, including insecure load, defective brakes, insecure dangerous goods, and overweight load, resulting in 142 charges being laid. The officers were strategically positioned across the region, near Highway 401, to ensure thorough inspections and enforcement.
This successful collaborative effort highlights the dedication of law enforcement agencies in ensuring road safety and compliance with commercial vehicle regulations.
