HK Leader John Lee vows to prioritize economic growth and address livelihood challenges.

Hong Kong’s Chief Executive, John Lee, recently discussed the accomplishments and future plans for the city. He highlighted the completion of constitutional responsibilities, including the implementation of the national security law. Lee emphasized the focus on economic growth, development, and improving people’s livelihoods.

Under his leadership, Hong Kong has seen improvements in the economy, with a GDP growth forecast of 2.5-3.5% this year. Efforts have also been made to enhance residents’ lives through initiatives like the light public housing scheme.

Lee outlined three major directions for the city: focusing on local economic development, leveraging existing advantages and exploring new growth areas, and seizing opportunities both overseas and in mainland China.

The city also aims to explore opportunities presented by Asean, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, and other regions like the Middle East and Central Asia. Lee emphasized the importance of promoting business opportunities in Europe and the West.

Lee addressed the issue of protests, urging residents to embrace a festive attitude on the July 1 anniversary. He emphasized the importance of expressing opinions in a peaceful manner, highlighting the city’s avenues for residents to do so.
