Government Takes Responsibility for Quality Medical Training

Government denies false claims on med student crisis, fortifies support for current students

In a recent press conference, Government Spokesman Mustapha Baitas addressed concerns regarding medical, dental, and pharmaceutical students’ training in Morocco. The government emphasized its commitment to quality medical training and highlighted the importance of addressing student concerns.

Immediate measures, including opening the spring exam session on June 26 and scheduling remedial exams, were discussed to end the current crisis. The government is actively engaging with student representatives to implement a new medical training framework for students enrolled from September 2024.

The new system will focus on integrating digital technology, artificial intelligence, telemedicine, and other relevant skills into medical education. Furthermore, students will have opportunities for clinical placements and internships in approved hospitals, enhancing their practical experience.

By adopting innovative teaching methods and strengthening faculty resources, the government aims to improve medical education and ensure future doctors are well-prepared for modern healthcare practices.
