Court Acquits Former Rep Wanted by Wike
The recent actions of Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, have stirred controversy as he reverses decisions made by the previous administration. One such action includes reinstating ownership of a property to former military governor, Gen. Anthony Stephen Ukpo (rtd), marking a significant change from the previous stance taken under Nyesom Wike’s leadership.
The property in question, Ogeyi Place Hotels, had been at the center of an ownership dispute after being confiscated by the former administration. The Fubara government attributed the initial revocation to an “error” and officially announced the reversal through a public notice.
In another development, a high court in Port Harcourt acquitted former House of Representatives member, Dr. Farah Dagogo, of criminal charges brought by the Rivers State Government. Dagogo, who was previously declared wanted by Wike, denied all allegations and was acquitted due to lack of diligence in the prosecution’s case.
Dagogo’s lawyer, Cosmas Enweluzo (SAN), emphasized that the ruling has cleared Dagogo of all charges permanently.
