Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli addressed the press on the electricity crisis, stating that Egypt’s power generation and transmission are not the issue. The recent crisis was due to a gas field outage in a neighboring country, leading to extended electricity cuts. To prevent future incidents, the government will increase fuel reserves by 300,000 tons and import additional fuel worth $1 billion.

In response to the crisis, the government will implement measures to avoid power cuts during summer, including closing commercial shops earlier. The prime minister assured a plan to prevent power cuts from September onwards. Despite the current situation, efforts are underway to stabilize electricity supply and ensure uninterrupted service in the long term.
