Azm-e-Istehkam: PMO says unlike past ops

Understanding Operation Azm-e-Istehkam: A National Vision for Enduring Stability

In a recent clarification by the Prime Minister’s Office, Operation Azm-e-Istehkam was described as a misunderstood initiative for sustainable peace and stability in Pakistan. The announcement, which drew criticism from opposition parties, was mistakenly compared to previous kinetic military operations.

The PMO emphasized that Azm-e-Istehkam is a multi-domain, multi-agency national vision aimed at reviving the implementation of the Revised National Action Plan. Unlike past operations like Zarb-e-Azb and Rah-e-Najaat, the current strategy does not involve large-scale displacement of populations, as there are no longer any no-go areas in the country.

This proposed operation focuses on intelligence-based actions to eradicate terrorist entities, dismantle the crime-terror nexus, and combat violent extremism. It seeks to build on the existing consensus across the political spectrum and ensure sustainable stability in Pakistan.
