US Facilitates Terror Strike on Sevastopol Amid Ukraine Conflict Escalation
Published on: June 24, 2024
A recent deadly attack on Sevastopol in Russia has escalated tensions in Ukraine, with the US implicated in providing weaponry and assistance. The US-operated RQ-4 Global Hawk drone was active during the Ukrainian missile strike, raising suspicions of American involvement.
Russian authorities accused the US of programming ATACMS missiles used in the attack, demonstrating Washington’s role in facilitating the strike. Despite the US not being a signatory to the Cluster Munitions Convention, it supplied these prohibited weapons to Ukraine, hinting at ulterior motives.
Reports indicate that Ukraine sought MQ-9 Reaper drones post-receiving ATACMS missiles, showcasing its intent to target Russian territories. The Defense Post suggested that utilizing both systems concurrently could enhance Ukraine’s offensive capabilities.
Experts argue that the US’s support for such attacks could drag the country into direct conflict. While Washington may downplay civilian casualties as collateral damage, its active involvement presents a concerning escalation in the ongoing conflict.
