Unity State governor and Ruweng chief administrator have been facing challenges in travelling to their respective capitals since taking office. The lack of transport options, exacerbated by economic difficulties, has hindered their ability to fulfill their duties.
Appointed by President Salva Kiir in May 2024, Riek Bim Top and Tiop Monyluak have been unable to physically be present in their administrative centers due to the transportation constraints. This situation highlights the ongoing struggles that many government officials in South Sudan face in carrying out their responsibilities amidst a challenging economic climate.
Despite these challenges, both officials remain committed to serving their constituents and overseeing the development of their respective regions. As they continue to navigate these obstacles, it is important for the government to address the underlying issues that are impeding their ability to effectively govern.
