Ensuring Peace in Ukraine is Crucial for Europe’s Security
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba emphasized the importance of securing peace in his country not only for Ukraine but also for Europe’s long-term security. During a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council, Kuleba expressed gratitude for the EU’s approval of the Negotiating Framework for Ukraine’s accession to the 27-member bloc.
He highlighted that Ukraine’s membership in the EU will strengthen the bloc and contribute to security and prosperity for all Europeans. Kuleba also stressed the need for additional air defense systems to protect Ukraine and Europe from potential threats.
Earlier this month, Ukraine’s EU accession talks are set to commence on June 25, following the country being granted a candidate status in June 2022. Kuleba thanked EU member states for their support and called for active participation in implementing President Zelenskyy’s 10-step peace formula.
Overall, Ukraine’s path to EU membership is not only beneficial for the country but also crucial for ensuring peace and security in Europe.
