Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that he remains dedicated to the Israeli proposal for a hostage and ceasefire deal, despite retracting his support for it a day earlier.

The proposal, approved by Netanyahu’s cabinet and delivered to Hamas over three weeks ago, outlines a three-phase agreement to release all remaining 120 hostages and achieve sustainable peace in Gaza.

Although Netanyahu initially expressed interest in a partial deal with Hamas on Sunday, his recent comments have been met with criticism from Hamas, undermining efforts towards peace.

Meanwhile, Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant is actively engaged in discussions with US officials in pursuit of a comprehensive hostage and ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

In a separate development, Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman Charles Q. Brown cautioned that the US may not be able to provide full support to Israel in the event of a conflict with Hezbollah, highlighting potential risks and challenges.
