CAIRO – 24 June 2024: Egypt remains firm in its stance against the operation of the Rafah crossing in the presence of the Israeli occupation, as confirmed by a reliable source on Monday.
In coordination with the United Nations, Egypt has facilitated the entry of aid into Gaza Strip through the Karem Abu Salem crossing on a temporary basis, until the Rafah crossing resumes its operations.
Over the past three weeks, Egyptian agencies, in collaboration with UN officials, have ensured the entry of 2,272 aid trucks into the Gaza Strip.
Recent reports from the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza reveal that the Israeli occupation forces have carried out three brutal massacres in the region, resulting in 101 fatalities and 169 injuries in the last 24 hours. Many victims remain trapped under debris, making it challenging for rescue teams to reach them.
The Ministry of Health noted that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression has now reached 37,551 martyrs and 85,911 injuries since October 7th, as reported in the daily statistics of Palestinian casualties on the 260th day of the conflict in Gaza.
