Court sends two individuals back into custody for suspected abduction.

A Federal High Court in Ibadan has ordered two terror suspects, Aliyu Mohammed and Ozain Mohammed, to be remanded in Agodi correctional facility as they await trial. The suspects pleaded not guilty to charges of unlawful possession of guns and abduction, leading to the court’s decision.

Justice Ekerete Akpan set the trial date for October 8th, while the Department of State Services (DSS) Prosecution revealed that the crimes were committed in Saki West, Oyo State, between October 2022 and March 2023. DSS operatives responded to a distress call about the abduction and detention of an individual, leading to the apprehension of Aliyu and Ozain.

The prosecution stated that the suspects violated Sections 21(1) and 26(1) of the Terrorism Prevention Act 2024. The court proceedings will be crucial in determining the fate of the two suspects as they face serious charges related to terrorism.
