In Abuja, Trademore Estate along the Lugbe-Airport Expressway has once again been submerged by floodwaters, with videos circulating on social media showing the extent of the flooding and reports of individuals being swept away.
This is not the first time the estate has faced such a crisis. In June 2023, heavy rain resulted in the flooding of over 100 houses in the area, with infrastructure issues along the water channel exacerbating the situation.
Following the 2023 flood, the Federal Capital Territory Administration declared Trademore Estate a disaster zone, and the Federal Government even threatened demolitions.
