Turkmenistan Takes Steps to Simplify Cross-Border Electronic Commerce

In an effort to implement the Framework Agreement on simplification of procedures for cross-border electronic commerce in the Asia-Pacific region, Turkmenistan is set to establish a working group, as reported by Trend.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rashid Meredov, highlighted this plan during a government meeting on June 21, emphasizing the importance of the agreement signed in 2022.

To ensure the successful execution of the agreement, the working group will include representatives from the Ministry of Justice and the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the significance of enhancing collaboration with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, providing specific directives to the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Furthermore, Turkmenistan’s focus on infrastructure development, legislation enhancement, and international cooperation aims to create a conducive environment for digital economy growth and international trade expansion.

This strategic approach seeks to improve accessibility to electronic platforms and digital services, boosting the competitiveness of local businesses globally.
