In a shocking incident at a Texas apartment complex, 42-year-old Elizabeth Wolf was arrested for attempting to drown a three-year-old girl in what appears to be a racially motivated attack. The altercation started with a confrontation between Wolf and the child’s Palestinian mother, who was wearing a hijab and speaking a foreign language to her children.
Witnesses described Wolf as “very intoxicated” and reported that she tried to grab the woman’s six-year-old son before forcibly submerging the three-year-old daughter underwater. Quick action by a bystander prevented a tragedy, but the family has been left traumatized by the ordeal.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Texas) has urged authorities to investigate the incident as a hate crime, condemning the act of violence against the family.
