PM Shehbaz Sharif Prioritizes Citizens’ Safety in High-Level Security Meeting
During a recent high-level meeting in Lahore, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of citizens and foreigners in Pakistan. The session focused on reviewing security and law-enforcement projects in Islamabad, with an emphasis on maintaining law and order.
PM Shehbaz directed an inquiry into delays affecting the completion of the Islamabad Model Jail and instructed for the project to be expedited to meet modern standards. He also mandated the establishment of a professional training institute and hospital within the jail premises. The prime minister highlighted the importance of consulting with Chinese experts to form the Special Protection Unit and emphasized the need for a state-of-the-art forensic lab as part of the Islamabad Safe City initiative.
The meeting included comprehensive briefings on various security infrastructure projects in Islamabad, with attendees such as Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Deputy Chairman of Planning Jehanzeb Khan. PM Shehbaz stressed the importance of merit-based recruitment and the adoption of advanced technologies to align with international standards across all security projects in the capital.
