NDLEA raids snake-guarded shrine, arrests 2 for drug storage in Edo

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) made a significant bust in Egor community near Benin, Edo, uncovering a snake-guarded shrine used for storing illicit drugs. The Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, reported that NDLEA operatives found a large hole hidden behind wallpapers and fetish objects in the shrine, containing substances like methamphetamine, Loud, Colorado, and Arizona cannabis strains.

Arrests were made, including two ladies and two additional suspects in separate operations in Edo. In Lagos, officers intercepted methamphetamine disguised in chocolate wraps at a motor park, leading to the arrest of a 39-year-old suspect. Furthermore, in Abuja, a vehicle loaded with a massive amount of cannabis was seized, with a 76-year-old grandfather linked to the illegal drug trade arrested.

This series of successful raids and arrests demonstrates the commitment of NDLEA in tackling drug trafficking and abuse across Nigeria. The agency continues to be vigilant in uncovering hidden drug operations and apprehending those involved in such illegal activities.
