In a recent interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Vice President Kamala Harris emphasized the impact of abortion bans in various states, describing them as a threat to essential reproductive care and labeling it a “health care crisis.” Harris highlighted the valuable services provided by reproductive care clinics, such as Pap smears, breast cancer screenings, and HIV tests, and expressed concern over the closures of these clinics in states with restrictive abortion laws.
The interview, airing on Monday, coincides with the two-year anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. Harris, along with reproductive rights advocate Hadley Duvall, discussed the importance of protecting abortion rights and urged voters to support candidates who prioritize women’s healthcare.
Harris framed the issue as a matter of fundamental freedom, stressing the significance of individuals being able to make decisions about their own bodies. She emphasized the broader implications of restricting this freedom and called on all genders to consider the potential consequences.
