Govt open to ‘constructive’ suggestions for Budget 2024: Tarar

Government Open to Positive Suggestions from Opposition on Budget 2024-25: Minister Attaullah Tarar

Minister for Information, Broadcasting, National Heritage and Culture, Attaullah Tarar, stated that the government is willing to incorporate constructive ideas from the opposition into the upcoming budget. He highlighted the tradition of presenting shadow budgets by opposition parties and expressed a willingness to consider ways to improve the budget.

The minister criticized opposition members for passing judgment without thoroughly reviewing the budget document. He outlined key budget proposals, such as salary increases for government employees and reductions in electricity tariffs. Minister Tarar also addressed concerns about non-filers being brought into the tax net and highlighted improvements in foreign reserves and stock exchange performance.

He emphasized the need for unity against terrorism and criticized the opposition’s attitude towards protecting minorities. Minister Tarar also mentioned the negative propaganda surrounding Chinese investment in Pakistan and questioned the opposition’s record on healthcare facilities. Overall, he stressed the government’s commitment to securing the country and fostering beneficial relations with friendly nations.
