Father of 4 slain in LA Metro train crime; suspects on the loose

Authorities in Los Angeles are on the hunt for three suspects involved in the shooting death of Juan Garcia, 38, on a Metro train. The incident occurred on Friday night at the Metro E Line stop at La Cienega and Jefferson boulevards after Garcia got into an argument with a group of men.

Garcia was tragically pronounced dead at the scene, with the suspects fleeing before police arrived. The LAPD described the suspects as males aged between 15 and 20.

Juan, also known as Tony, was a father of four and the oldest of seven siblings. His family set up a GoFundMe to honor his memory, recalling him as their protector and a strong figure in their lives.

The motive for the shooting remains under investigation, as officials work to gather more information. In response to a recent surge in violent incidents on LA Metro, there has been a push for increased law enforcement presence to ensure public safety.

If you have any information related to the case, please contact LAPD’s South Bureau Homicide Division detectives at 323-786-5111.
