The Cuban Foreign Ministry has announced its decision to join international efforts against the genocide in Gaza. Cuba is invoking article 63 of the ICJ genocide convention to participate in the anti-Israel lawsuit at the international court, denouncing Israel as an occupier that violates the Fourth Geneva Convention’s protections for civilians in conflict zones.

Havana emphasizes that the global community cannot tolerate genocide, apartheid, or collective punishment. Following South Africa’s complaint in November, the ICJ ruled in January against Israel’s genocidal acts in Gaza.

Furthermore, the ICC Prosecutor has called for the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for war crimes and crimes against humanity, with member states obligated to cooperate if the ICC judges approve. Over 37,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have lost their lives in Gaza since the Israeli conflict began.

Stay tuned for updates on the ongoing legal battle for justice in Gaza.
