Another tragic shooting incident has left a community in mourning as a fourth victim succumbs to injuries sustained outside a grocery store in Fordyce, Arkansas. The Arkansas State Police reported that a total of 14 people were wounded in the shooting, including civilians, law enforcement officers, and the suspect, 44-year-old Travis Eugene Posey.
The shooting occurred on a Friday morning, resulting in the death of four civilians: Shirley Taylor, Callie Weems, Roy Sturgis, and Ellen Shrum. Seven other civilians survived their injuries, with some still hospitalized. Law enforcement officers involved in the incident also sustained injuries but are in stable condition.
Travis Eugene Posey will face four counts of capital murder, and more charges are pending as the investigation continues. Despite non-life-threatening injuries, Posey was apprehended and taken into custody. The community is left reeling from this senseless act, and the authorities are working diligently to bring justice to the victims and their families.
