South Sudan assesses progress on SDG16

Vision for Generation organization recently hosted a Consultative National Review on SDG16 in Juba. Government agencies and civil society participated in the event to contribute to the general review that will be presented at the United Nations General Assembly in New York. Pia Philip Michael, the Undersecretary in the Ministry of Peacebuilding, emphasized the importance of this review for South Sudan, highlighting the country’s focus on achieving peace, justice, and strong institutions as key priorities.

The review also assessed progress towards targets such as zero hunger, good health, quality education, and climate change mitigation. Taban Christopher, Executive Director of Vision for Generation, stressed the significance of SDG 16 in achieving inclusive peace and justice through strong institutions.
