On Saturday morning, an argument broke out between two groups over the possession of a piece of land near Upadhyay’s marble shop.
Scenes reminiscent of the popular web series Mirzapur unfolded on the streets of Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, as violence erupted between two groups exchanging gunfire over property ownership on Saturday.
A video of the incident on the Pilibhit bypass in the Izzatnagar area went viral online.
This wasn’t from Mirzapur Season 3 but an actual crime scene in Bareilly, UP. Two groups clashed, leading to one person getting injured. The main accused were Rajiv Rana and Aditya Upadhyay.
During the clash, an individual on a nearby rooftop sustained injuries. Seven policemen were suspended following the incident.
The primary suspects were identified as Rajiv Rana and Aditya Upadhyay.
The argument over land ownership near Upadhyay’s marble shop quickly escalated into violence as one party set JCB machines on fire and gunfire ensued.
Police arrived at the scene promptly with a fire brigade, extinguishing the blaze. However, both groups had fled by then.
Raids were conducted to apprehend the suspects, with Upadhyay and his son Aviral being arrested.
The police continue their search for the remaining individuals involved in the incident.
Senior Superintendent of Police of Bareilly, Ghule Sushil Chandrabhan, suspended seven officers, including SHO Jaishankar Singh, for negligence in handling the situation.
