Punjab Government Announces Plan to Introduce 3,000 Buses in the Province

In a recent press conference, Punjab Transport Minister Bilal Akbar shared exciting news about the government’s ambitious plan to bring 3,000 buses to the province over the next five years. These buses, including electric ones, are set to revolutionize the public transport system in Punjab, starting with Lahore by the end of this year.

The initiative, approved by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, will see the introduction of 657 environment-friendly buses in cities like Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, and Bahawalpur. With an initial project already underway to acquire 300 electric buses for Lahore, the government is committed to providing efficient and sustainable transport options for its citizens.

During a meeting to review the completion of the CM’s 33 Special Projects, it was announced that 330 electric buses would be deployed in various cities across Punjab. This comprehensive plan aims to enhance connectivity and reduce carbon emissions, showcasing the government’s dedication to modernizing the transport sector.
