Illegal Afghan migrants still returning to their homeland

Over 620,000 Illegal Afghan Nationals Repatriated by Pakistan

Since the deadline given by the National Action Plan (NAP) apex committee for illegal foreign nationals to leave Pakistan or face deportation, more than 620,000 Afghan individuals have returned to their homeland. Between October 11th to 21st alone, 13,815 Afghans, including men, women, and children, were repatriated.

Pakistan has faced criticism from various countries, including the US and UK, regarding the repatriation process. However, the Pakistani government has defended its actions, stating that only illegal Afghan residents are being deported to curb rising crime rates.

The repatriation efforts are being facilitated at the Torkham and Chaman borders to ensure a smooth transition for the returning individuals. The government is committed to enforcing immigration laws and maintaining security within the country.
