Cuba Joins International Efforts to Stop Genocide in Gaza
Cuba has made a bold decision to join the fight against genocide in Gaza, aligning with international efforts to end the atrocities in the region. The Cuban Foreign Ministry announced this move in accordance with Article 63 of the ICJ genocide convention, asserting its rights as a third party to participate in the anti-Israel lawsuit at the international court.
Labeling Israel as an occupier that blatantly disregards its commitments to the Fourth Geneva Convention, Cuba stands firm in advocating for the protection of civilians in conflict zones and occupied territories. The global community, led by Havana, stands united against genocide, apartheid, forcible displacement, and collective punishment.
Recent developments also include South Africa’s complaint to the ICJ, holding the Zionist regime accountable for its war crimes in Gaza. Additionally, the International Criminal Court Prosecutor has called for the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his egregious actions.
With over 37,000 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, killed in the ongoing conflict, Cuba’s stance sends a powerful message demanding justice and accountability for the oppressed.
