Cancellation of Greater Poland Uprising Stamp Sparks Controversy

100 rocznica wybuchu powstania wielkopolskiego koperta fdc

The Ministry of State Assets (MAP) has caused uproar by revoking approval for a commemorative stamp honoring the National Day of the Victorious Greater Poland Uprising. Bartłomiej Wróblewski, a PiS party member, strongly condemned the decision as a disregard for historical memory and national pride.

The stamp, meant to mark the 106th anniversary of the uprising, was unexpectedly excluded from the issuance plan by the new MAP minister, Jakub Jaworowski. Wróblewski denounced this move, vowing to challenge it through an interpellation and protest.

The refusal to release the stamp has sparked widespread criticism online, with many expressing disappointment at the government’s handling of historical commemorations. The controversy has reignited discussions on the importance of preserving national heritage and honoring historical events.
