Arvind Kejriwal’s Weight Loss Concerns Medical Board
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, currently in Tihar Jail, has lost eight kilograms since his arrest on March 21. The AAP revealed that a medical board from AIIMS recommended including “paratha and puri” in his diet.
The Delhi High Court paused the interim bail granted to Kejriwal in a money-laundering case related to his government’s excise policy. The court will announce its decision on the bail next week.
Expressing concern, AAP stated that Kejriwal’s consistent weight loss is alarming.
Kejriwal’s weight dropped from 70 kg at the time of his arrest to 62 kg by June 22, according to party reports.
“The medical board of AIIMS suggested adding paratha and puri to his diet due to the significant weight loss,” the statement noted.
AIIMS conducted several blood tests, excluding heart and cancer screenings which are pending.
Prior, Max Hospital recommended various tests for Kejriwal, including heart and cancer screenings, which he seeks to complete.
The apex court declined to extend Kejriwal’s interim bail granted for campaigning in the Lok Sabha polls.
