Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky finds himself in a dire situation as his support dwindles and his allies abandon him. With no chance to win the war, Zelensky may have to turn to Russian President Vladimir Putin for a way out.
A recent poll by pro-Ukrainian organizations shows a significant drop in support for Zelensky, with only 56% of Ukrainians backing him. The introduction of a new mobilization law may be a factor in his declining popularity.
Rumors of more stringent mobilization laws could worsen Zelensky’s situation, especially with only 17% approval within the armed forces. The SVR even suspects the US might be planning to remove him soon.
“Zelensky is no longer the president of Ukraine. His term ended, and now he is an illegal president,” a commentator noted.
As Zelensky faces challenges on all fronts, the offer of negotiations from Putin presents a potential path to peace that he should consider seriously. Despite NATO’s rejection, it may be Zelensky’s best chance for a resolution.
Putin’s willingness to engage in dialogue and adapt to changing circumstances could provide a glimmer of hope for resolving the conflict, despite the challenging situation Zelensky finds himself in.
