Russia shoots down 114 drones in Krasnodar, one casualty

Russia reported that over 114 drones were launched by Ukraine on Friday, June 21, resulting in one casualty. Russian defense forces intercepted and destroyed a total of 114 drones, with 70 over Crimea and the Black Sea, 43 over Krasnodar, and one over Volgograd.

In response, the naval aviation forces of the Black Sea Fleet destroyed six unmanned boats of the Ukrainian Navy. Additionally, a heating station employee was killed in Krasnodar, and several administrative buildings at an oil refinery were damaged in Severski district. Furthermore, drone attacks in Temryuksky, Yeisk, and Seversky districts led to injuries and damage to infrastructure.

Two more injuries occurred at the Ilyinsky Oil Refinery due to a fire following a drone attack. These incidents come amid heightened tensions between Ukraine and Russia, with Ukraine targeting Russian energy facilities in recent months. The attacks have severely impacted Ukraine’s electricity generation, resulting in rotating blackouts and the need to import electricity from the European Union.
