Japan’s space agency faced cyberattacks repeatedly since last year

The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) has been targeted by cyberattacks since last year, according to government sources. Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi confirmed that the agency is currently investigating the extent of the damage caused by the attacks and has taken steps to shut down the affected networks.

Hayashi stated that the hackers did not access any sensitive information related to rockets or satellites. Despite this, the agency is taking the matter seriously and is working towards enhancing its cybersecurity measures to prevent future incidents.

The incidents highlight the increasing threat of cyberattacks on critical infrastructure and government agencies. It is crucial for organizations like JAXA to remain vigilant and proactive in safeguarding their systems against cyber threats.
