Taoiseach Simon Harris is set to attend the British-Irish Council summit on the Isle of Man, focusing on renewable energy. This summit holds particular significance as it is the first since 2021 where the First and Deputy First Ministers of Northern Ireland will be represented.

Representing the Government alongside Minister for Housing Darragh O’Brien, the delegates will discuss ways to unlock economic and social opportunities through renewables across the islands. Established in 1999 as part of the Good Friday Agreement, the BIC is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.

Chief Minister of the Isle of Man, Alfred Cannan MHK, expressed his pleasure in hosting the summit, emphasizing the importance of supporting the peace process and cooperation among all BIC members.
