Federal Government Refutes Claims of Binance Executive’s Deteriorating Health in Prison
The Federal Government has denied allegations made by United States lawmakers that Binance Executive, Tigran Gambaryan, is suffering from deteriorating health and lacks access to quality medical care while in prison in Nigeria.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, stated that Gambaryan’s detention is lawful and he receives necessary medical attention and consular services from his home government.
The government emphasized its commitment to due process and reiterated that any changes to Gambaryan’s detention status must go through legal channels.
US lawmakers called for Gambaryan’s humanitarian release after visiting him in prison and expressing concerns about his health and detention conditions.
The Federal Government maintained that their actions against Binance align with international norms and sovereign responsibilities, contradicting allegations of poor detention conditions for Gambaryan.
The government affirmed that Gambaryan’s detention is based on court orders, and only the court can modify the terms or order his release.
