Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah inaugurated the Sindh Smart Surveillance System (S4) project to enhance security at major entry and exit points in Sindh. The system, equipped with advanced technologies like facial and number plate recognition, will be operational at 40 toll plazas, including 18 in Karachi. The project aims to improve security responses and integrate with the existing command and control centre at the Central Police Office.

During the ceremony, CM Shah expressed optimism that the S4 project would aid in the capture of over 80,000 absconding criminals and decrease vehicle theft and snatching. The system will enable law enforcement to identify suspects, locate stolen vehicles, and conduct investigations more efficiently. With an allocated budget of Rs1.567 billion, the ANPR Camera System will be procured to strengthen the security infrastructure.

Health Insurance Scheme for Cops

Furthermore, the CM announced a comprehensive health insurance scheme covering 127,482 police employees and jawans with a total outlay of Rs4.9 billion. The Behbood-i-Jawan Health Insurance Plan offers equal coverage to all employees and their dependents for various medical expenses.

Overall, the initiatives aim to create a safer environment in Sindh and provide essential support for law enforcement personnel.
