The Brazilian Air Force Acquires Cutting-Edge Thales Radars to Bolster Air Defense

Amidst growing global tensions, the Brazilian Air Force has made a significant announcement at Paris’ Eurosatory 2024, revealing the acquisition of advanced Thales Ground Master 200 Multi-Mission All-in-One radars.

Designed for rapid deployment, these radars can switch from transport to operational status in just 15 minutes, boasting dual-beam 4D AESA technology for precise detection over long distances, especially for stealthy and slow-moving targets like mini-drones.

With the ability to be repositioned in only 10 minutes, these radars showcase exceptional adaptability in various tactical scenarios, housed in a portable 20-foot container complete with a power unit and operator cabin.

The Brazilian Air Force’s KC-390 Millennium aircraft can swiftly transport and set up these radars, facilitating the establishment of extensive no-fly zones across bases.

Thales’s technology also ensures future-proofing with a scalable and upgradeable antenna system, aligning with Brazil’s strategic evolution in airspace defense to safeguard sovereignty with enhanced air navigation safety and quick defense responsiveness.

Through collaborations with partners like Embraer, Brazil remains proactive in staying ahead of modern aerial threats, ensuring national security and readiness on a global scale.
