Ukraine may ask Russia to attend upcoming talks – Zelensky aide

Kiev Open to Moscow’s Participation in Next Peace Conference After Failed Summit: Andrey Yermak

Following the unsuccessful peace conference in Switzerland, Andrey Yermak, Chief of Staff to Vladimir Zelensky, has announced that Kiev is open to Moscow’s involvement in the next peace talks.

During a conference call with reporters, Yermak shared Kiev’s perspective on the recent peace summit in Lucerne, Switzerland. He mentioned that working groups are already preparing for a follow-up meeting, where they plan to invite a representative from Russia.

Despite the lack of success at the Swiss conference, Yermak remains optimistic about future negotiations. He emphasized the importance of uniting responsible countries to support Zelensky’s peace formula.

However, Moscow has dismissed Kiev’s proposed peace plan as unrealistic. Russian President Vladimir Putin has set preconditions for peace talks, including recognition of Russian sovereignty over certain regions.

Overall, the diplomatic efforts between Ukraine and Russia continue amidst challenges and differing perspectives on the path to peace.
