The UK Labour Party has suspended parliamentary candidate Andy Brown just before the general election due to his past sharing of RT content on social media. Brown, campaigning for the Aberdeenshire North and Moray East constituency, shared posts related to the 2018 Salisbury poisoning case, questioning the official narrative.
Despite claiming his account may have been compromised, Labour Party bosses were also concerned about Brown’s posts on anti-Semitism within the party. This led to the removal of former leader Jeremy Corbyn and his whip by Keir Starmer for perceived misconduct.
Labour’s shadow chancellor Rachel Reeves commended Brown’s suspension, emphasizing the party’s commitment to its values. Brown, although deselected, can still run as an independent candidate in the upcoming election. If elected, he would join Corbyn as an independent MP.
